Welcome to thechampagnedonkey.co.uk, where charm meets celebration! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between you and Champagne Donkey (the “we” or “us”). By using our website or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
 

1. Our Service

The Champagne Donkey offers a unique entertainment service, providing the opportunity to hire a trained donkey ("Champagne Donkey") for private events. The donkey may carry client-provided bottles of champagne or other refreshments in decorative packs to serve guests. The donkey is always accompanied by a trained handler.
 

2. Eligibility

To book our services, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older.

  • Have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

  • Ensure that all guests consuming alcohol at your event are aged 18 or over.


3. Animal Welfare

We uphold the highest standards of animal welfare:

  • The donkey is not to be ridden, mishandled, distressed, or treated in any way that breaches the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

  • We reserve the right to withdraw the animal from any event immediately, without refund, if our handler deems the environment or treatment of the donkey unsafe or unethical.
     

4. Alcohol & Licensing

  • Champagne Donkey does not sell or supply alcohol.

  • The client must supply all beverages and remain responsible for ensuring compliance with all UK alcohol licensing laws.
     

5. Bookings, Payment & Cancellations

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Full payment is due 30 days before the event.

  • Cancellations:

    • More than 14 days in advance: Full refund (minus £50 admin fee).

    • Within 14 days: 50% refund.

    • Within 7 days: No refund.

  • In the rare event that we must cancel due to illness, weather, or welfare concerns, you will receive a full refund or option to reschedule.
     

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure the venue allows animals and is accessible (e.g., no tight staircases or hazards).

  • Provide a quiet holding area for the donkey before and after service.

  • Ensure guests behave appropriately and follow handler instructions at all times.
     

7. Limitation of Liability

  • While our donkey is gentle and well-trained, you acknowledge that animals can behave unpredictably.

  • You agree that The Champagne Donkey is not liable for injuries, allergic reactions, broken glassware, intoxication-related incidents, or third-party misconduct.

  • Our public liability insurance covers accidents involving our donkey and handler only.
     

8. Use of Images

With your consent, we may take photographs for marketing use. If you prefer not to be included, please notify us before the event.
 

9. Privacy

We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your personal data will only be used for managing your booking and will never be shared without your permission. See our [Privacy Policy] for full details.
 

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
